Cindy P. Thomas is professor and associate dean for research at the Brandeis University Heller Graduate School, with a research focus on pharmaceutical spending and policy, technology transfer, and substance use disorders. In behavioral health, her work includes adoption, cost and clinical impact of new treatments for substance abuse, monitoring the prescribing and use of controlled substances and treatment pharmacotherapies, and development of performance measures for medication assisted treatment of substance use disorders. Additional published work includes adoption of health information technology and electronic prescribing, insurance benefit design, and prescription drug management practices in managed care organizations.
