Emanuel Krebs is a senior health economist within the department of cancer control research at the BC Cancer Research Institute. He has expertise specializing in applied econometrics using administrative data, mathematical simulation modeling, and model-based health economic evaluation. His current research uses quasi-experimental study designs for generating real-world evidence for evaluating health technologies. His research has also quantified the public health impact and cost-effectiveness of different HIV prevention and treatment combination strategies to help prioritize allocation of resources, as well as estimated the health benefits and cost savings associated with the treatment of opioid use disorder. Krebs holds research and educational positions in other pan-Canadian and international collaborations, including the Global Health Equity Research Alliance, the Academy of Translational Medicine within the University of British Columbia’s Department of Medicine, and the Terry Fox Research Institute Marathon of Hope Cancer Centres Network Health Technology Assessment Working Group. He received his master’s degree in economics at Simon Fraser University.
