Jennifer Brown’s research focuses on the intersection of substance use, Hepatitis C, and HIV. For example, she was the PI of a NIDA funded R03 grant to examine the effectiveness of substance use treatments to reduce HIV risk behaviors using an integrated data analysis approach. She is interested in the development and evaluation of interventions to prevent HIV/AIDS and promote psychosocial adaptation, particularly among individuals with substance use disorders. Brown's research also aims to reduce health disparities and improve the reproductive health of adolescents. For example, she is the PI on a Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation funded grant to examine the contraceptive practices and HIV prevention approaches of South African adolescents.
