Bio
Lauren Cipriano is an associate professor in Management Science at the Ivey Business School. She holds cross-appointments in the Department of Medicine and the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry. She is the Canada Research Chair (Tier II) in Healthcare Analytics, Management, and Policy and the Deputy Editor of Medical Decision Making and MDM Policy & Practice. Her research expertise focuses on the application of statistics, decision analysis, economics, and operations research to health policy problems. She has specific expertise in the economic evaluation of clinical diagnostics and novel therapeutics, resource allocation, and infectious disease policy.
Cipriano has consulted for the World Health Organization, U.S. Veterans Health Administration, U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the U.S. Institute for Clinical and Economic Review, and the Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health (CADTH). During the pandemic, she served on the Ontario COVID-19 Science Advisory Table’s Modelling Consensus Table. Dr. Cipriano received her MS in Statistics and PhD in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University. She previously worked at the Institute for Technology Assessment at Massachusetts General Hospital.
