Bio
Matthew Eisenberg is an associate professor and vice chair for research and practice in the Department of Health Policy and Management at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health where he also serves as director of the Center for Mental Health and Addiction Policy. He completed his undergraduate degree in policy analysis and management at Cornell University, followed by a PhD in public policy and management from Carnegie Mellon University, focusing on health economics. He has published more than 75 peer-reviewed papers in top journals, including the Journal of Health Economics, American Journal of Health Economics, JAMA, JAMA Psychiatry, and Health Affairs. His research examines government, insurer, and employer health policies, emphasizing mental health and substance use disorder. His goal is to inform better policy approaches and improve health care delivery.
