Michael Irvine, a senior scientist at the British Columbia Centre for Disease Control and adjunct professor at Simon Fraser University (Faculty of Health Sciences) and the University of British Columbia (Department of Statistics), applies mathematical modeling and Bayesian statistics to assess public health interventions. With an MSci in Mathematics from University College London and a PhD in Mathematical Ecology and Complexity Science from the University of Warwick, he's also held postdoctoral fellowships evaluating elimination campaigns for neglected tropical diseases and received a CIHR Health Systems Impact Fellowship for his work on the impact of the British Columbia's overdose response.
