Bio
Mila Sun is an assistant professor in the Division of Biostatistics in the Department of Population Health Sciences at Weill Cornell Medicine. Her research focuses on developing and applying causal inference methods to generate rigorous, actionable evidence from clinical trials and real-world healthcare data. She develops statistical methods to address challenges commonly encountered in comparative effectiveness research, including missing data, dynamic treatment strategies, target trial emulation, treatment nonadherence, and the integration of randomized and observational data. Her work combines methodological innovation with clinically motivated applications, with a particular interest in substance use disorders and other areas where treatment effectiveness must be evaluated in complex real-world settings. Her research aims to improve the validity, generalizability, and translational impact of real-world evidence for clinical and health policy decision making.
