Sean M. Murphy serves as the co-director of CHERISH, co-director of the CHERISH Administrative Core, overseeing the CHERISH Consultation Service and the CHERISH Research Affiliate program, and co-investigator of the CHERISH Methodology Core. Murphy is currently a professor in the Department of Population Health Sciences at Weill Cornell Medicine. He is a leading expert in the design and analysis of prospective, comparative economic and effectiveness evaluations of interventions for substance use disorders, HIV, and other related conditions that are conducted alongside clinical trials and cohort studies. He has been involved in the NIH Helping End Addiction Long-term (HEAL) initiative since its inception, where he has played a major role in the Justice Community Opioid Innovation Network (JCOIN), and received the inaugural NIH HEAL Director’s Award for Interdisciplinary Collaboration in 2023.
